Siyakhula Trust grew out of the non-profit community training initiatives of Percon, a training consultancy operating in the corporate sector. In the early 1980s, Percon realised that in order for South Africa to bring about change, communities had to be empowered. As a result, capacity training was offered to community leaders and Non Profit Organisations in both the rural and urban disadvantaged areas. By the early 1990s the need for such work had grown to such an extent that Siyakhula Trust was launched as an independent entity.
Our mission is to assist community leaders, Community Based Organisations, Non Profit Organisations and government officials develop skills so that they can efficiently initiate and manage development and job creation projects to the benefit of the communities they serve.
Siyakhula Trust’s work is well known and respected in developmental circles and the organisation is entrusted with significant capacity building and organisational development interventions by government departments, national agencies and major corporate and international funders.
The Trust is committed to best practice and is fully compliant with all legislative and professional requirements. Strong emphasis is placed on good governance, tight financial control, project management and accountability and the development of quality training material and OD tools. These factors coupled with highly trained specialists ensure the professional delivery of all training, audit and Organisational Development services.
